COLORADO NATIONAL MONUMENT

Spring is starting to get going on the monument.

The sheep are out and about along with the flowers starting to bloom.

But it is the sun that changes the views of the canyons. The sun and shadows play a beautiful dance in the landscape each and every hour. Soon the morning sun will peak over the Grand Mesa at around 5 AM and set at 9 PM in the plains of the Utah border. The long and hot days of summer dry up the monument for yet another change in the landscape.

The greens of spring are busting out.

Along with the Big Horn Sheep.

Beautiful Paintbrush Wildflowers litter the landscape.
